Servant Requirements

Outreach Servants are required to adhere to the following:

  • Confirm via email that you have read Growing as a Christian 101, by Bruce Bickel and Stan Jantz. This must be done before you will be assigned an Outreach recipient. You may purchase the book online or from your local Christian bookstore.

  • Read a minimum of one book every three months from the HandsForChrist.com list of recommended reading and resources.

  • Commit to maintaining and growing in your relationship with Jesus. You can do this through spending time with Him in prayer, His Word, in praise, and in fellowship with other believers.

  • Commit to serve as an Outreach Servant for a minimum of 3 months. As a servant of Christ, you will already have and will continue to maintain time spent growing in Him and the knowledge of His Word.

  • Walk a person through the steps of salvation for a minimum of 40 days. The relationship may extend if necessary.

  • Make personal connection, via confidential messages, with people in need of God's forgiveness, love, and hope for salvation.

  • Maintain privacy through this site. We encourage you to share only your first name with those you are serving, but we discourage the exchange of personal information, like telephone numbers, addresses, etc.

  • Honor the privacy of those you're serving. All messages are confidential. All HandsForChrist.com servants are required to follow the policies and procedures of the servant confidentiality agreement.

  • Make contact once a week with each person. Some circumstances may require more contact, but we encourage you to set a boundary of no more than two contacts a week. However, if a person is desperately seeking the Savior and events in his or her life are leading to a decision, pursue unlimited contact as needed. By all means, let the Spirit lead and open the doors for salvation.

  • Encourage those you are serving to connect with a home church. Although you can present the gospel and give them understanding as to what's involved, it's important that they have a community of believers that will help them grow in their knowledge of Jesus.

  • Have accountability from HandsForChrist.com staff members. All messages may be accessed by staff members as form of support and accountability. Staff members will be in touch to encourage you in your ministry. They are available to offer advice on dealing with particular situations you may encounter. They have the responsibility to ensure biblical integrity as messages are exchanged through this site. They are here to help you in your ministry.
