In March 2012, Spirogen and ADCT announced their partnership to develop proprietary ADC products. CRT holds the intellectual house rights to a range of tumour-targeting agents developed by Cancer Research UK researchers. ADCT will fund preclinical studies for the new ADCs in a variety initially of cancer versions in laboratories at Queen Mary, UCL , and King’s College London.The researchers found that the more sports teens played, the much more likely they were to use smokeless tobacco. During 2013, 12.5 % of teens who performed three or more sports used smokeless tobacco, compared with 11.5 % among those who played two sports, 10 % among those who played one sport and 6 % among nonathletes, the study said. In contrast, the usage of cigarettes and cigars was 16 % for students on three or even more sports teams, 17 % for all those on two teams, 20 % for all those using one team and 21 % for nonathletes, the researchers said. King said that the tobacco sector has marketed smokeless tobacco instead of cigarettes in circumstances where smoking is prohibited, which might promote their use among athletes further. Although Minor Group Baseball prohibits usage of smokeless tobacco, Main League Baseball restricts but does not prohibit its use, he noted.
